Fernando Tlacuatl- Executive Director
Before arriving to T.A,S,A Fernando Tlacuatl spent two years coaching for Decatur-DeKalb YMCA Wolves coaching Academy and Select levels. Fernando began his youth soccer experience with TYSA and ended his Georgia Youth Soccer Career playing for Alianza Soccer Club while guest playing for Strictly Soccer and West Pines in Florida at Super-Y levels. He played high school soccer in Gwinnett County for Brookwood High School and was later recruited by Deportivo Toluca Futbol Club where he relocated and collaborated for the Apertura season in 2009.After playing for the youth professional team, Fernando returned to America where he continued to play at collegiate level. During our first season at TASA, coach Fernando Tlacuatl was invited to help evaluate ODP players for the state and has been invited to co-host clinics and ID camps for Dalton State College.
Rachael Schmidt is a current player for the Clayton State University and the Atlanta Silverbacks Womens Soccer team. Growing up, Rachael Schmidt played club with GSA, Atlanta Fire United, Concorde Fire, and also played a major role with the state ODP team at state, regional, and National levels. She also grew up collaborating for Brookwood High School and Georgia Perimeter College from 2009-2013. Schmidt has the experience to help develop future generations and is proud to join the T.A.S.A coaching staff.
Erik Quintana is from Mexico City, Mexico. At the club level he played for Alianza Soccer Club where he attained many championships and played at the most competitive level in youth soccer; including the Disney Soccer Showcase, Classic 1, Region 3 Premier League (R3PL). He played at Centennial High School in Roswell, GA. Quintana was a four year letterman. During his sophomore year he was recognized as the most improved player, and during his senior year Quintana was named the team’s MVP while having the most assists and a crucial goal in the state playoffs. Quintana also helped his team to a region championship and was a state finalist. After graduating high school he spent two years training with former Toluca and National team legend Jose Manuel Abundis. He then decided to take his career to the college level in his third year of college where he played at the NAIA level with Point University. At Point he lead his team to the semifinal of the ACC Conference for the first time in school history. He lead his team in assists and was selected to the NAIA 2014-2015 All Conference Academic team. He did plenty of soccer clinics while he was at Point University and is determined to share his knowledge and love of the game to the club.
Coach Cesar Andres Espinoza played club soccer at Alianza SC, Georgia Football Club, and Georgia Soccer Academy. He played high school soccer at Parkview High School all four years where he achieved a Region championship and qualified to state playoffs all four years. After high school he took a year off to develop his soccer skills training with World Cup player and Mexican National Superstar Jose Manuel Abundis. Then he decided to take his skills to the college level. He played 2 years at Georgia Perimeter College, at the Junior College level, where they achieved Regional Championships. He then transferred to NCAA Division II Georgia Southwestern to play his remaining two years where he was captain. Espinoza used to coach at Toluca Academy several years ago and is excited to be part of our family once again!
